Things to do in Manchester

Day time in Manchester is just as exciting at its nightlife as there are tons of things you do, whether you want to do all the tourist visits to museums or whether you want an exciting adventure, this is a city that has it all.

Manchester as a number of interest museums you can visit to find out all about their past, from the involvement in the industrial revolution, the Trade Union movement and Manchester's football. You can be transported back to the Roman era by visiting Castlefield and going to the rebuilt section of the Roman Fort of Mamucium that is open to visit. There's also the Museum of Transport that has a great collection of old stem trains, aircrafts, buses and industrial machines.

There are also two art galleries in Manchester; The Whitworth Art Gallery, the perfect place for modern art lovers, as it is full of contemporary modern art and sculptures. The other art gallery is Manchester Art Gallery this is the home to the collection of European painting and the very popular Pre-Raphaelite painting collection.

Or if you are a big football fan then you will want to visit the Manchester United Museum in the Old Trafford football stadium. Depending on which of Manchester's two football teams you are a fan of; Manchester City or Manchester United, will be your choice as to which stadium you take a trip to. City's ground, the City of Manchester Stadium which was built back in 2002 for the Commonwealth games. Since the games the ground has under gone a few changes, they lowered the ground level and then constructed a sitting area. The stadium went on to host the UEFA Cup Final in 2008.

The other football stadium is of course The Old Trafford ground, the biggest football ground in the UK, as well as being the only football stadium to have hosted the UEFA Champions League Final. Every year the amount of fans that visit the ground increases so it's not surprising to know that they have the widest football fan base in the world.

The Manchester theatre scene doesn't let the city down with the Royal Exchange Theatre, the Palace Theatre and the Lowry Centre. The theatres pull in a huge number of people every year with West End production touring through their theatres. There is also the MEN Arena that also pulls in the crowds due to music artists and comedians bring their UK/World tours to Manchester city!
